Lucie arrive à son bureau et découvre, accrochée sous une fenêtre de l'immeuble d'en face, une banderole noire avec écrit : ‘HOMME SEUL’. Est-ce un gag, un cri du coeur, un appel au secours ? Lucie et ses deux collègues s'interrogent et décident de mener leur enquête... A midi, elles pique-niquent à côté, au ‘SQUARE DES FRANCINE’. Là, les amoureux graves, les solitaires enjoués, joueurs de tous âges, tournent autour du joyeux jet d'eau. La ronde continue en face, au magasin ‘BRICO-DREAM’ où, sous les conseils plus ou moins compétents d'une équipe de vendeurs en sur-effectif, les clients calculent, échafaudent, tendus, angoissés, ayant peur de repartir avec des étagères trop courtes, des vis trop longues... A la fin du jour, aurons-nous croisé ‘l’homme seul’ parmi la multitude de ces personnages affairés ?

Wanneer Lucie op kantoor komt, ziet ze onder het venster van het gebouw tegenover haar een zwarte vlag hangen met daarop in witte letters ‘MAN ALLEEN’. Is het een grap, een verzuchting of een kreet om hulp? Lucie en haar twee collega’s twijfelen en besluiten op zoektocht te gaan… ’s Middags picknicken ze op de ‘SQUARE DES FRANCINE’, waar de smoorverliefde koppeltjes, happy singles en casanova’s van alle leeftijden elkaar ontmoeten. Het gezelschap vervolgt zijn queeste naar de ‘BRICO-DREAM’, een winkel waar veel te veel verkopers twijfelachtige adviezen geven aan een gierig, opvliegend of gespannen cliënteel, doodsbenauwd om met te korte schappen of te lange vijzen naar huis te gaan… Zullen we aan het einde van de dag, tussen al die drukke mensen, de ‘man alleen’ zijn tegengekomen?

As she does every morning, Lucie joins her colleagues at the office. It’s a working day just like any other. Then suddenly all activity in the office stops. All attention is turned towards the window of the building opposite and a banner reading: ‘MAN ALONE’.  Is it a hoax? A cry for help? Lucie and her two colleagues will try to discover what lies behind this mysterious message… Later that day, during the lunch hour, the ‘SQUARE DES FRANCINE’ becomes the place where serious lovers, lonely but happy persons, players of all ages meet. The story continues at the ‘BRICO-DREAM’ store where, under the more or less competent advices of an overcrowded sales team, the tense customers are afraid to leave with too short shelves or insufficient nails… At the end of the day, will we have crossed the ‘man alone’ amongst all these busy characters?
